My son is 2 1/2 and this rocket wears him out. He has a blast jumping and running to find the rocket. When the other neighbor children come over, the boys all yell like they are looking at fireworks, ooohhh ahhhh. It has been great to watch them use it. Great value for the money!

The blasting pad part of this toy is quite durable, better than others I've seen. The fins fall off the rockets very easily, so plan to invest in some foam glue or just blast the rockets without the fins. One it is assembled, it really has to stay that way, so though it is not too big, you've got to have a place to put it. It is simple for the littler ones to figure out, and while the rockets don't fly as high as they do for older kids, the younger ones love it anyway. Even my 2 year old has figured this out and can make the rockets shoot 10-15 feet in the air. I liked the fact that the rockets can only shoot straight up, but I have a few boys who would sure love it if it would shoot in any direction (my husband showed them how to pick up the pad and aim it to make it do that...Thanks, Honey!).

We bought this for my son when he was 3.5-years-old for Christmas. He is 5.5 years old and still loves to play with it. We all do. It is resonably priced, and runs on kid power instead of batteries. We have bought more rockets over the past 2 years, but that is it. It stays in my trunk so we have it wherever we go.

Great toy, once you learn its picky points. Most of what previous reviewers state about following the directions is correct. After close attention to details, we still couldn't get this rocket to fire the first few tries, and then finally success!!! The rocket is trigger happy. We had to launch it within a second or two of pumping it up. And the trigger had to be squeezed hard and fast by an adult. If we waited too long it wouldn't go, BUT ... all we had to do was pump on it some more and then launch it within a second or two to get it to launch. You don't have to empty everything and start over, just pump it a few more times and launch it quick. Worked every time after following this rule. The kids love it!

I was impressed when putting it together because the material is decent quality (my only gripe is that the plastic ground stakes should be metal because plastic doesn't easily go into soil around here). But when we got it out in an open field to launch it, the rocket only launched 4 out of our 10 tries. It takes 140 pumps each launch and so if it doesn't go up you have to empty the pressure and pump it up again which is a 5-10 min process. Imagine doing this numerous times after failed launches with 7-8 yr old kids all standing around anticipating a launch. A number of things have to be perfect for it to launch including it standing perfectly level (there's a level included), just the right pressure (not too much or too little), fully inflated and the seams of the rocket can't line up in a certain place. Even after checking all of these multiple times we couldn't get it to launch most of the time. When it did go up it went very high and the kids were impressed. I might... Read more

this rocket is AWESOME! It is true that it does go 100 feet in the air, maybe even higher. We have had a blast with it. You have to follow the directions EXACTLY to get it to blast off, but they are easy to understand. LOADS OF FUN!

HOW IT WORKS: You blow up the 7-foot inflatable rocket part, really easily (you don't need a pump, and it's easy enough that I could do it myself). You fill a little water bottle and seal it. You pump what looks like a bicycle tire pump until the pressure gauge shows in the green. Then you squeeze a grenade-type ball that launches it. It goes 100+ feet in the air! You can continue launching it over and over by following the same procedures.

On a windy day we were blasting it off, it took off, the wind changed and sent it back right towards us! It was hysterical (it wouldn't have hurt, it's only filled with air after all). It gave my husband a chance to play hero and actually catch a rocket out of the air.

Highly recommend... Read more
